Over zelious system adminstrators often think it's fun to install buggy packages on your machine and try to prevent you from removing these MSIs from the "Add/Remove Programs" admin screen. If you find the "Change" and "Remove" buttons have been disabled, simple go to the following registry key and search for the package name (note, you may find more than one entry). HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Installer\UserData Once you have found the package key, set the "NoModify" and "NoRemove" keys to 0 and you will be able to do what you want with the package. Alternatively, if you don't want to modify your registry - you can browse to the MSI specified in the "LocalPackage" key and right click on it, then select "Uninstall" (Hint: Most installer files will be in C:\Winnit\Installer\)
