hi. Am doing a university assignment in which i'm required to sort thru date data, find the last five dates in any month, these have share prices in the next col which are associated - average the 5 prices and set these av prices up in an array. I can strip the day out ok - so that i get a list of days to sort thru but have no idea on how to check thru these days and do the rest. I cant use the offset function (I used this successfully to calculate two day averages) -because i need to set a range to values that change (i think). my data set is a couple of thousand days long. Can anyone educate me on a method and maybe explain in beginners language so that I can understand. Thanx Hoss
