In old BBC basic it was possible to enter a mathematical expression as text and then get the code to evaluate it as if it was a formula - the following would work and give y=25 Input A$.......(type X*X in response) X=5 y=eval(a$) Can the same (or equivalent) be done in VBasic and how THanks for any help received Nick
